Going Sidewards To Then Go Forward
Talking to a client recently who was struggling to know which way to turn and wanted to ensure it was the right one brought up so many different options. But when it came to it, going sidewards before going forward was the right option for him.
But it wasn’t easy getting to that decision as there were so many options from different sectors, roles, and everything in between.
However, making sure we recorded every option ensured everything was explored even though options might seem a little wild and not possible.
And then deciding to go sidewards into a new area again brought up barriers, concerns, and unknown opportunities.
It can feel scary, unnerving or even feel like it is impossible when working through your next career step and worrying whether your next step is the right one.
Working everything through can be your best option and also give you support in facing the fear of doing something new.
After exploring all the options it was going sidewards which was the best option for the immediate future so that options in 2 to 3 years were looking more possible.
Things to consider
• Things can take time so don’t worry
• You can go sidewards or even backwards to then go forward.
• Trust yourself and what your heart is saying
• Talk it through with someone
