Rewarding Yourself

Recently working with a client who wanted to set the objectives for the following year, we took time out to review the achievements from the previous year. Not only did this help with knowing which ones to take forward but also to have a moment in saying well done and being proud of what you have achieved.

Working with this client reminded me that I needed to do this exercise again as sometimes life gets super busy, and you forget to do this part.

But also, that noting these achievements down that you should take some time out to celebrate.

Whether it is to buy a coffee and cake from your favourite coffee shop or to treating yourself to a new top. For me it is about getting some chocolate in.

Rewarding yourself is so important and especially an important part of running your own business. You work really hard all year and consistently looking to achieve your objectives, working on that work/life balance but how often do you look back and say well done.

How often do you take time out to review what you have achieved in the past 6 or 12 months?

How often do you take time out to say well done and reward yourself especially if you are working for yourself?

It doesn’t matter how big or small the achievement is – it is an achievement, and you should be proud of and reward yourself.

We always say that you learn from your mistakes, but I also believe you learn from your great achievements as well and they should be noted and also be pushed forward as well.

So what are you going to reward yourself with for the past 6 or 12 months and what items are you going to take forward?
