Autumn
Autumn is definitely my favourite season as I just love the colour of the trees but also walking along and kicking those leaves that have fallen. It is slightly cooler but not enough to wrap up too much but still need those sunglasses.
Walking this morning made me think of my memories of walking with my grandpa and even at one point I put my hands behind my back like he used to. I remember collecting conkers and using his walking stick to knock them off the tree.
Taking time out to remember those lovely memories and taking time to pulse in your day can be so beneficial for your mindset and also your energy. It led me to then think about my career pathway and how things have moved on so much more with accepting that people don’t always have a job for life like previous generations.
I was talking with a client who was only having this very battle about changing direction and whether they could make this work, whether it was possible but also be comfortable with where they wanted to go versus what his current employer wanted them to go. He was grateful that they wanted him to keep progressing, but he was struggling with his passion for doing something completely different and whether it was possible.
Sometimes this battle can stop so many people from following their passions versus what their current employer or family think they should do. Just having a conversation with someone can be enough for them to work through their options but sometimes they need some support and confidence to make it happen.
Sometimes it can be ensuring you put more focus on your personal aspects and not letting work parts take over what you want. For me, it was about taking in those lovely walks in the autumn leaves but also being ok that I didn’t say in one career path.
Everyone is different and that is ok.
