Retiring what has that got to do with coaching?

When I was getting my covid jab the guy was chatting away with me and asked me what I did as a job and he was like can you help people who have retired as well.

It is funny as it reminded me of a client who wasn’t sure about retiring and what they would do or whether to keep working. They also thought it would be really scary as didn’t know if they could financially finish, what the options were and what this could look like. They didn’t want to waste time when they did but they were scared about not having something in place to keep them busy. We were able to pull together a plan that worked for them and we ensured it captured all those new possibilities with the extra freedom.

Coaching can help anyone at any age and it is important that you have the opportunity to talk things through. Making any step however big or small can be a big deal and it is important to have that person to work through how those steps pan out.

One of the things you will need to check is the financial side of things but once that is worked through then you might be asking yourself – what next?

  • What plans have you got in place?
  • Do you know what the options are?
  • Is there something you want to try out which you have been waiting until you are retired?
  • Would you like to go to part time first?
  • Do you want to go travelling?
  • How you want to spend more time with your family?

You may be feeling a bit overwhelmed by these questions or even remotely thinking about retiring but having a coach can be the right thing for you as the support in working through these questions can be so helpful. You might feel like it such a daunting thought but you don’t need to do this on your own.

I am here to help you through these plans and I always say it is never too early to start thinking about this.
